Governance

The Board of the Orangeville Food Bank is a governance board.  Board Directors are volunteers who work collaboratively with the Executive Director and senior management to ensure the food bank delivers on its fiduciary and strategic plan responsibilities. Directors participate in Board deliberations and decision-making in matters of policy, finance, programs, personnel and advocacy. The Board is ultimately responsible for organizational governance, strategic plan implementation, policy development, financial oversight, advocacy, fundraising support and Executive Director support/guidance.

There are several Board committees, including Governance, Finance, and Projects, that meet regularly to provide oversight of these critical areas. Committees are composed of both Board members and members of the public.

Aim 1: Adapting to the Need:
We will adapt to the growing and diverse
needs of our community, developing services and practices that foster an effective, inclusive, and accessible environment as well as ensure all groups associated with the food bank, are enabled, and supported in the most effective ways possible.
Aim 2: Building our Presence:
We will build the profile of the food bank in the community through creating and strengthening our partnerships and communication strategies, resulting in greater understanding of our services and greater resources available to serve our clients.
Aim 3: Creating Future Stability:
We will continue to evolve our services and
our organization, advocate for food security
and poverty solutions and develop
sustainability strategies for the OFB, building where appropriate and partnering where it makes sense.
